The Beast Reborn Firefox 3

16 06 2008

“And so at last the beast fell and the unbelievers rejoiced. But all was not lost, for from the ash rose a great bird. The bird gazed down upon the unbelievers and cast fire and thunder upon them. For the beast had been reborn with its strength renewed, and the followers of Mammon cowered in horror” ~ From The Book of Mozilla.

//Yeppp, Mozilla Firefox 3 will be released soon(3 more hours 2 go) !! New features and the best of all is that Firefox 3 eats less memory as compared to the previous versions. I tried the beta version of Firefox 3, coooool , its fasssssssster(it gives you the horsepower you need to experience rich Internet apps) than ever, better stability, more secure and user interface(cooool new interface) improvements. In the beta none of the extensions would work, hope that all extensions will be updated by Tuesday 17 June.

New features are:

  • Firefox 3 has theme to integrate any operating system.
  • Improved Location Bar(Integrated search)
  • Built-in search for passwords
  • New Add-ons management
  • New Interface
  • New Security features

“Our goal because we are non profit isn’t world domination,” said Mr Schroepfer (Vice President of Engineering at Mozilla). “It’s just to make sure the internet is open, collaborative, competitive and innovative.”

Firefox 3 easter eggs:
  • Type about:robots into the address bar to get a fun page of robotic references.
  • Type about:mozilla a quote from the book of Mozilla
  • Type about kitchensink (no colon in there) and you will see a funny little animation.

And if you want to help Mozilla to set a Guinness World Record. Pledge to download FireFox NOW. Till now there are only 340 people who have pledged in Mauritius.

But the sad part in that is that Google Browser Sync will be discontinued. Google will not update the Browser Sync anymore. Such a great Firefox extension, that synchronize your bookmarks and temporarily saving them on Google servers. As They Say, All Great Things Come To An End. Does all great things need to end?

Anyway, hope you will join the mission to help Mozilla to set a Guinness World Record for the most software downloaded in 24 hours! Hope their servers will be able to handle this. Definitely lots of credits and thanks flyz to Mozilla for this great browser. Firefox 3 Rocks!

“Mammon slept. And the beast reborn spread over the earth and its numbers grew legion. And they proclaimed the times and sacrificed crops unto the fire, with the cunning of foxes. And they built a new world in their own image as promised by the sacred words, and spoke of the beast with their children. Mammon awoke, and lo! it was naught but a follower.” ~ From The Book of Mozilla, 11:9 (10th Edition)
