Google Buzz! The New Facebook?

10 02 2010

//Yeps … another quick post on Google, hope the next post will not be on Google, lol!!  Well… Well …Who is not on Facebook? Apparently most of us have a Facebook profile. Hmm … now Google is joining a race that has started years ago, with its new Google Buzz, a new social component (built in G Mail). What is Google Buzz?

Watch the video below to have a better idea!

I found it cool, but most of my friends on Facebook have a Hotmail or Yahoo account. I don’t know why most girls have a Yahoo account, lol. And Google buzz required a Gmail address; I don’t think that Facebook devotees are going to switch to Gmail just for this. Hope it will not end up like Google Profiles; clean, simple and good looking but no one use them!

There’s no guarantee that Google is going to be successful with this new service but who knows!! I am still waiting for the “Buzz” to appear on my Gmail profile :(. I will try to update(Update: G.Buzz is not that interesting :() this post later on. Stay tuned and Happy Buzzing 😉

Try Google Buzz

28 01 2010

God Mode in Windows 7

17 01 2010

//Hello …. I am back! Still working on final year project …. oufff, now it’s time for a small break. This is my first post for 2010. Ok … for this post, I will remove all fluff, magnanimous words and keep things as simple as possible.  Windows 7 God Mode allows you to change all Windows 7 settings from one place. Really easy to activate and damn useful.

Step 1: Create a new folder on your desktop

Right Click > New Folder

Step 2: Rename the new folder to:

GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}” (without quotes)

Step 3: The folder icon will automatically change to

Step 4: Double click on the new icon “GodMode” and enjoy!

The new folder will acts as a shortcut to Windows 7 God Mode. Hope it helps!! BRB 😉

Download The Pirate Bay Now

30 08 2009

Host Intruder

//Well … You have probably noticed that The Pirate Bay website was frequently down these days, sometimes it’s some DNS issues, sometimes it’s the RIAA and we don’t really know when the website will be passed onto its new owners.

Anyway, we know that the end of The Pirate Bay is not too far, to be on the safe side it’s better to have a copy of the world’s largest bit torrent tracker on your computer.

Everyone can download it directly from The Pirate Bay, packed into a massive torrent amounting to 21.3GB and which points to “terabytes-worth” of data. Wonder how much time it will takes to download this here, in Mauritius.

Grab your own copy Now: Download The Pirate Bay

Btw, check out how to “Triple Torrent Download Speed” in Mauritius.

P.S. This package contains approximately 873,671 torrent files and don’t forget to seed.

Collecta : Live Search Engine

20 06 2009

//Yep …  Collecta is the latest entrant in the search wars. Its a realtime search engine, means it scans the Internet, searching through news stories, status updates, blog posts, Facebook micro-blogging sites such as Twitter, blogs comments and other sources. Collecta was built based on the open messaging standard XMPP.

Its not like the other search engines, use Collecta only to search for “hot-topic” (what is happening right now) like iPhone, Ubuntu, Windows 7, etc. and the results are impressive. I spent some time playing with the sample pages and wow,  the posted search results were really up-to-date(less than a minute). Results came from Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, blogs and everywhere else.

“The web is alive with real-time information. So why search a stale archive? Collecta monitors the update streams of news sites, popular blogs and social media, and Flickr, so we can show you results as they happen.” says on Collecta website in a note.

Another insteresting feature is that you can leave multiple searches running simultaneously to receive a continuous stream of results. I think its one of the best real time search engine on the web for the time being. Check it out.
